Founder Bio

Karen is the President and Founder of the North American Association of Hobby Farmers. The association was founded to provide a place for new and experienced hobby farmers to connect and share information on the trials and triumphs of adjusting to and living a rural lifestyle.

Karen is in-between hobby farms herself right now, having recently sold her 3.5-acre organic vegetable and herb farm in North Texas. A 200-acre spread in West Central Texas is being investigated for her next hobby farm adventure.

Formally educated in Computer Information Systems and working as a full-time computer systems analyst, Karen understands the complex balance between commuting to the city and then deciding to make the transition to a rural lifestyle.

Karen currently lives in Frisco, Texas, where she farms herbs in containers on her patio.
